Mallorca in October

Featuring plentiful local festivals and a busy sporting and cultural calendar

The month of October sees autumn beginning in earnest on the island, with quieter beaches and fresher temperatures.

It’s still more than warm enough, however, to enjoy a range of local festivals, often held in celebration of the season’s harvest. Many wineries and vineyards also open their doors to visitors this time of year, while the popular German import of Oktoberfest is celebrated across the island.

Mallorca’s cultural calendar is in full swing, with a busy programme of both indoor and outdoor events over October, from sports events like the Legends Tennis Cup and Pinmar Golf tournament, to cinema in the form of the Evolution Mallorca International Film Festival and numerous concerts such as Port de Sóller‘s Classical Music Festival.

With the tourist crowds thinned, the stifling heat mellowed, and so much to see and do, October is a great time to enjoy the best of Mallorca.
