In just a decade, Terraza Balear internationally renowned interior design studio. The company, which was founded in Mallorca in 2010 by the Argentinean Mariana Muñoz, is responsible for projects that appear frequently in the main international design publications.

With a passion for design that began as a child growing up in Buenos Aires and gathered momentum as she travelled the world as an adult, Mariana discovered her inspiration in Italy, where she fell in love with the timeless elegance of Italian design. It remains the aesthetic that forms the signature Terraza Balear style, which combines a natural aesthetic with leading furniture designs by Minotti, B&B Italia, Flexform, Poliform, Dedon, Tribù, and more.

After opening a showroom in Santa Ponsa, selling the finest Italian outdoor furniture, Mariana applied her belief in the ‘multiplier effect’ of teamwork.

“I became obsessed with hiring talent to create a multidisciplinary and prodigious team,” she recalls. “Passion and sensitivity plus talent – this is the magical formula that has made our company so successful.”

Terraza Balear had only two employees in 2010, and now employs forty professionals. This includes interior designers, architects, decorators and a logistics and an operations team that together creates the finest residential, commercial, and nautical projects in the Mediterranean.

The services provided by Terraza Balear have steadily expanded from residential design to interior design for boats, hotels and restaurants. “We create unique places, with a soul of their own,” says Mariana, “spaces that flow with sophistication and elegance, a harmony of earth tones and natural materials that evoke emotions and create a unique atmosphere. The beauty of Mallorca captivates its visitors and many decide to buy a house here. Terraza Balear caters to the needs of this international community, turning houses into homes in full harmony with the environment and the Mediterranean lifestyle.”

With more than 1000 projects already completed in Spain – mostly on Mallorca and Ibiza – and further projects in the UK and Germany, from its Mallorcan home, Terraza Balear has truly arrived on the world stage as a benchmark and reference in the global design scene.
