Most new architectural designs on Mallorca put an emphasis on outdoor living, with lounges extending seamlessly to outside spaces and alfresco cooking options, though few do it with so much aplomb as this stunning property. Perched up in the hills of the Palma suburb of Genova, with fabulous sweeping views across the bay, the open-air elements of this luxury villa are to the property as integral as the interiors.
Behind the stunning design of the home are Alex Von Waberer Architecture and renowned architect and interior designer Maria Oliver, but when it came to designing and equipping the outdoor areas, the natural choice was Espacio Home Design.
Responsible for the stylishly understated kitchen was their Cocinart brand, who used darkwood panelling and white marble for a sophisticated finish. The marble island features tidily integrated top-quality appliances, with more tucked away behind cupboards whose doors slide neatly into the unit out of sight.
As well as throughout the property, EHD’s audio and video experts at Espacio Scena integrated Bang & Olufsen wooden speakers to maintain the continuity and harmony of the design. But the real star of the project is the high-performance cinema, that not only blends aesthetically with its surrounds with Architettura Sonora’s stone speakers, but provides a state-of-the-art cinema experience.
With the customised control of the Scena Cinema InTouch application, a simple tap activates the motorised screen hidden behind the stone wall. In an instant, movies of the highest definition at your fingertips. In short, the magic of an open-air cinema, at home. And when the movie ends, you can return directly to watching the show-stopping panorama of the Mallorcan coastline.
