“When I arrived in the mountains of Mallorca, I had never felt like this before. I had a whole-body ‘yes’ feeling that this is home,” recalls Zoe Lind van’t Hof, co-founder of Wunder Workshop, with a smile. This intuitive connection to the Tramuntana mountains reflects the ethos of Wunder Workshop, a business born from a blend of Ayurvedic principles, intuitive herbalism, and a deep commitment to sustainability. Established on Portobello Road in London in 2014, Wunder Workshop has grown into a company synonymous with regenerative living and mindful consumption.
Zoe, alongside her partner Tom, draw on their unique backgrounds to craft products that go beyond wellness trends. Zoe’s early immersion in herbalism was inspired by her late mother, a naturopath. “I grew up plant-based, surrounded by botanicals and ‘witchy’ books, learning foraging from a young age,” she shares. This holistic upbringing, combined with her recent degree in Herbal Medicine, has laid the foundation for Wunder Workshop’s focus on preventative health through nature’s abundance.
Tom’s journey into the world of plants took a more scientific route. A pharmacology graduate, his professional experience in the medical field revealed the limitations of conventional medicine in addressing long-term health. “Seeing the role that plants have in the medical world sparked my curiosity,” he explains. Together, the duo’s combined knowledge has created a product line steeped in Ayurvedic wisdom and backed by scientific rigor.
Nurturing nature, nurturing ourselves
Wunder Workshop’s philosophy is grounded in the belief that we are not separate from nature, and therefore looking after her is looking after ourselves. This perspective informs every aspect of their operation, from ingredient sourcing to product development. The company works closely with farmers who practice traditional “food forest” farming—sustainable systems where crops like turmeric, ginger, and cacao grow in biodiverse environments without pesticides. “The richer the soil and its nutrients, the richer the ingredients we harvest,” Zoe emphasises, highlighting the connection between environmental health and product quality.
Their product journey exemplifies a “full-circle approach” that balances environmental stewardship, social impact, and consumer health. For instance, their turmeric—a cornerstone ingredient—is grown by farmers in Sri Lanka using regenerative methods. “We meet those who nurture the plants, dedicating their lives to maintaining traditional farming techniques,” says Zoe. Once harvested, the ingredients are dried and prepared at the source, ensuring economic value remains within the community. They are then shipped to Europe for packaging in eco-friendly materials, completing a cycle of integrity and intention.
Wunder Workshop’s product lineup includes the iconic Golden Mylk, a nourishing turmeric latte blend, and their Regenerative Golden Drops, a CBD-infused oil. “I believe people appreciate the provenance, benefits, and taste of these recipes,” Zoe reflects, noting the loyal customer base that has grown over the past decade.
Ethics in every detail
The duo’s move to Mallorca has brought Wunder Workshop’s mission to life in new ways. Their café in Palma, which opened this year, serves as a tangible expression of their values. “The space is a physical presentation of our ethos – everything, from the paint to the materials, is sourced ethically,” says Zoe. Visitors can explore the full range of products, experiment with niche ingredients, and connect with like-minded brands that share a commitment to sustainability.
As they prepare for a festive market this December, Zoe and Tom are more dedicated than ever to their mission of connecting people with the healing power of plants. “Sharing our story, and the stories of the farmers we work with, is what drives us,” Zoe concludes. It’s a mission built on care, community, and an unwavering belief in the regenerative power of nature.
