In the heart of Palma’s old town, the Plurifamiliar Bosseria project is a masterclass in architectural restoration and urban renewal. Breathing new life into an iconic listed building, the renovation achieves a special harmony between historic integrity and contemporary comfort. Behind the elegant modernist façade, five storeys now accommodate seven exclusive residences, including two duplexes, each designed to combine heritage character with today’s lifestyle needs. A roof terrace with swimming pool crowns the building, offering sweeping views over Palma Cathedral, Santa Eulalia and the distant Bellver Castle.
Contemporary living in a heritage listed building
Grupo Ferrá carried out the restoration process in collaboration with the team of architects—Jordi Herrero Campo (principal architect), Pedro Fuster Servera and Tofol Postigo Prieto (technical architects), along with Reolid Consulting (engineering)—with a vision deeply rooted in respect for the site’s history. “We felt truly motivated to work on a place with such a rich past,” says the Grupo Ferrá team, “preserving its essence while at the same time giving it new vitality.”
Their design concept carefully balances avant-garde elements with protected features, ensuring that historic details such as woodwork, wrought iron and tiled floors were restored and integrated in a meaningful way. “It not only meets the technical and regulatory requirements, but reflects a shared sensitivity to the history and character of the building,” the team explains.
Natural light and ventilation define the experience of living here, thanks to three interior courtyards retained in the original layout. While subtle upgrades—such as a discreetly installed lift—improve accessibility, the architectural spirit of the building remains intact.
Key design partners helped bring the interiors to life. Espacio Home Design curated the furniture project, creating a seamless aesthetic that bridges heritage with a new-era of living. Cocinart crafted the kitchens, combining practicality with refined style to suit today´s Mediterranean lifestyle.
Designed for lasting impact
Beyond the structural and interiors work, what set this project apart was the collaborative process: “Everyone involved showed a remarkable level of commitment throughout,” say Grupo Ferrá’s technical team, highlighting the shared goal of creating a space that is both technically sound and emotionally resonant.
The result is a unique urban residence: one that honours the historic soul of Palma while offering all the comforts of modern Mediterranean living. With its noble materials, sustainable focus, and timeless elegance, Plurifamiliar Bosseria stands as a thoughtful homage to Mallorca’s architectural past, and its future.
