Picture yourself cycling along the promenade of Palma Bay in the early summer sunshine. Perhaps you’ll head into the centre to browse around the city’s annual book fair, and maybe later take a drive to the stunning West Coast for an al fresco dinner at a great restaurant. When the mellow May dusk arrives, the light cast over the faded pink stone of Valldemossa is particularly romantic.
Mallorca has some of the loveliest towns in all the Balearics. Strolling their streets during a local fair is a perfect moment to discover them. The enactment of the Battle of the Moors and Christians that took place in Sóller nearly 500 years ago is as passionate as always, while Capdepera’s Medieval Fair is wonderfully evocative. And of course, the food and drink at the Wine and Cheese Fair in Estellencs tastes as good as ever.
