“We won the lottery with this office,” smiles Jaime Lamas, founder and head of prestigious law firm Despacho Lamas. In his smartly-cut suit with an easy manner and warm smile, Jaime is one of the heavyweights in the world of property law on the island. And the lofty views from his prestigious office, taking in a wide swathe of Palma’s cityscape and glistening bay, are also fittingly impressive.
Coming from a family scattered with lawyers, Jaime has it in his blood. A degree in law from the University of the Balearic Islands was soon followed by post-graduate studies in Vienna, plus spells training in both Frankfurt and London. He returned to Spain to work at his uncle’s law firm, before striking out on his own – and in 1989 Despacho Lamas was born.
Fast forward 30 years, and thousands of clients, Jaime has established his company as one of the leaders in the field, not just for property law, but absolutely everything relating to the buying, selling and management of real estate.
