In the calm of the Mallorcan countryside, where limestone has shaped both landscape and architecture for centuries, Daigo’s story begins at the source. From their own quarry, blocks of warm local stone are carefully extracted and, through traditional craftsmanship, transformed into architectural elements and bespoke pieces for the home. “It’s not just a material,” explains co-founder Adelaida de Verastegui. “It’s something we feel responsible for preserving and developing through contemporary architecture.”
Adelaida herself first fell in love with Mallorca’s stone during a personal search for the perfect bathroom sink. Inspired by the remarkable craftsmanship of artisans Jaume Reines and Biel Angel, she co-founded D’Aigo to share what she had discovered. From tactile basins to custom mosaics and stone flooring, their pieces lend weight and permanence to every space they inhabit. Stone resists the passing of time; its strength and beauty endure across generations. Rather than following imported trends, Daigo builds around what belongs to the island. “Our kitchens and bathrooms reflect this philosophy,” says Adelaida. “They carry the warmth and texture of Mediterranean architecture, yet are shaped with modern clarity. We focus on solid volumes, honest materials and refined proportions. The result is not decorative excess, but quiet strength.”
As the studio has grown, so too has its collaborative spirit. Dialogue between design, craftsmanship and technical expertise now informs each project, balancing intuition with precision. Alongside bespoke pieces, the team now undertakes complete interior design projects. Their new 200 m² showroom in Felanitx demonstrates Daigo’s vision of the contemporary Mediterranean home in its entirety. Going well beyond kitchens and bathrooms, visitors can explore different moods and ideas for the whole house. From living and dining areas to bedrooms, their design solutions are always highly personalised and grounded in their philosophy of working with artisans.
