The Summer Vacation

Chic fifties fashion

We hark back to the Fifties, when summer fashion was either fabulous or nifty, or both…

For our July fashion photo shoot, we decamped to the gorgeous beach and bay at Camp de Mar, near Andratx. The theme was the Summer Vacation, and the models, Laura, Javier and Ramute, looked amazing in chic Fifties outfits.

Being a summer and seaside theme, blue and white were prominently used though floral and square patterns were also to the fore. As has been the fashion this year, Javier’s tops and shirts were buttoned up to the top.

Jennifer Jane created a classical make-up look for the models to complement the elegant style of the era. The spectacular hair style was created by Monika Hübert.

Photographer Thomas Baar produced these stunning images, which authentically replicate the feeling of optimism from the decade.

The location, which has a wooden boardwalk that leads to an island in the bay, added to the sense of nostalgia for an era that is associated with regeneration and growth.

Clothing highlights from the shoot included:
• Red Samantha Sung dress from Rialto Living.
• Red Valentino dress from Kidama.
• Gold shorts from H&M.
• Men’s shirts from Boss Black.
• Hats from Ontop.
