Cristina Vinyals’ process is like a meditation. She meticulously places each fragment of reclaimed glass to catch light in ways that shift and shimmer as hours pass. Inspired by the Japanese art of kintsugi, the artist brushes 18-karat gold within the crystal’s cracks, highlighting imperfections. These golden veins speak to the beauty of nature’s resilience and endurance— but also it’s fragility.  This is the essence of Cristina’s signature style: a distinctive, sustainable approach unlike any other.

With a background in architecture, Cristina aims to create art as a sanctuary for the senses. Her pieces that are not only seen, but felt, designed to instill tranquility in the viewer. From her Mallorca studio, she crafts each work with a commitment to sustainability. Cristina Vinyals’ studio is located in Son Sardina, where she offers visits by appointment. Her works are also on display at Gallery Can Boni and the Puro Hotel Oasis.

Virtually any size can be customised. As Cristina is an architect and interior designer, she can advise on the size and tones of the work according to the room and your preferences.

Which materials are used in each artwork?

Cristina’s pieces incorporate natural pigments fused with repurposed glass that cannot be recycled due to its lead content, thus reducing the waste we produce. This glass interacts with light to create dynamic reflections and textures that evolve throughout the day, making each piece a living work of art.
