Ana Lado’s eyes light up as she talks about the international design fairs she attends to keep her finger on the pulse. “In Milan, you forget where you are,” she says about the sensational expo. Forgetting you’re in a showroom is what happens at Villa Wesco, too. Set within a historic Mallorcan manor house with a spacious terrace and garden, visitors are invited to imagine their own Mediterranean idyll.
“Every year we completely change everything so that our clients can have a new and exciting experience,” she says. Certainly, every time we visit there are several huge boxes in the process of being opened. We settle back in the luxurious DEDON sofa, trickling water from the infinity pool – a soothing background sound – as we listen to the innovations at this must-visit furniture and interior design store in Santa María del Camí.
Furniture and Bespoke Outdoor Kitchens
Villa Wesco specialises in furniture for interiors and exteriors as well as top-of-the-range outdoor kitchens. Highly customisable and resistant, these German-made kitchens incorporate a range of appliances from induction teppanyaki grills to kamado ovens. Their multi-award-winning designs won the German Innovation Award in 2020. Accompanying the perfect exterior kitchen is everything else you could need for alfresco dining and entertainment.
Ana guides us through the garden, bringing our attention to beautiful teak tables and chairs by Manutti, luxurious daybeds by DEDON and distinctive ceramic vases by Des Pots. “It’s in our interest to have high-quality furniture,” she says, “because we want our clients to have every confidence in us and our store.” Stepping inside the manor house, we feast our eyes on elegant table settings, sophisticated living rooms and refreshing bedrooms. “We also work alongside artists,” Ana tells us, “Such as Anna Goschin, who was in British Vogue a few months ago.”
Trustworthy Interior Design Service
Every component of a home is important to Ana and her expert team, since they offer an integrated interior design service. Many international clients entrust them with the keys to their second homes and return, with eager anticipation, to find an empty space transformed into a unique and stunning home.
“We want things to be as smooth as possible for our clients,” Ana says, “and for them to come to the island to disconnect and rest.”
For the areas they don’t specialise in, they have trustworthy contacts with which they work. “We’re proud of all the projects we do,” she says, mentioning a 400m2 seafront villa at Capdepera and smaller light-filled home in Costa d’en Blanes. Whatever the size of the property, Ana has always been able to visualise its potential. She loves to stand in a space and really feel it. Listening to the client’s desires and healthy collaboration within the team are important parts of Villa Wesco’s philosophy – and a source of lasting satisfaction.
