#MallorcaDesignDay converts Palma into a catwalk

New designers dazzle with fashion for all sizes

Over 700 people attended the first edition of #MallorcaDesignDay at Moll Vell, an event which was set up to promote new designers, nationally, internationally and from the Balearics. Pilar Sarmiento Gada was the overall winner of the Balearics group with her collection Green Zone. A graduate of the Balearic Island’s School of Art and Design, Sarmiento wowed with her bold designs which followed the theme ‘Publicity and Labels,’ and included a homage to LEGO.

Popular TV host, Nacho Montes was the master of ceremonies for the evening. A highlight was seeing the collection from Nieves Rubio, winner of the Curvy category. Eva Maria Perez Llano, one of the most important plus size models in the world, made a special appearance on the catwalk, which was the first of its kind in Spain.
