There was a great sense of anticipation for the 2013 Women’s Spring Summer Collection from Emporio Armani, the second line of the Giorgio Armani brand aimed at a younger, more trendy clientele, and it should be a big hit with that audience.
Ultra skinny young models strutted down the runway in combinations of silk and metalic fabric shorts with matching jacket in light pastel shades.
In the fashion show notes, the designer called his spring style “clean”. In reality it was a typical Armani collection – very wearable and practical, classic in design and minimalistic in style.
Natural colours with metalic gold and bronze underlined the down to earth feel of the collection.
My favourite was the gold coloured sleeveless fitted jacket with loose belted matching shorts which would be ideal for a shopping date or indeed a walk in the park.
The handbag I liked most was the natural leather shopper which is sure to be a classic in years to come.
There was a mix of two-toned shoes with open fronts and thick heels and ballerinas which are so in fashion with teens at present.
Visiting the Armani Theater was an experience particularly with the high level of security. The drama surrounding the event with bloggers chasing after the stylish attendees seeking photos and interviews and the entourage of black Mercedes Benz cars chauffeuring the elite to next fashion event was as entertaining as the show itself!
