From April 2024, the Bendinat Medical Centre will offer a new range of services for family medicine, general medicine, internal medicine and orthopaedics. German internist Dr. Carsten Henningsen, who has been working on Mallorca since 2009, is opening a new centre in the southwest with his colleague Prof. Dr. Patric Garcia, an expert in orthopaedics and traumatology.
Covering around 120 square metres, the new practice with four doctors and three receptionists complements the local medical centre. Dr. Miramanée Neumann, who trained in Hamburg and at the Charité hospital in Berlin, has joined the internal medicine team. The general practitioner has previously focused on preventative diagnostics for children and adults as well as naturopathic treatments.
“A personal consultation needs time and empathy”
In the field of orthopaedics, Prof. Dr. Garcia will be joined by orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Dietmar Schulz, who trained as an orthopaedic surgeon in Mallorca and has worked in Germany and Switzerland. He also holds a FIFA diploma and specialises in the treatment of degenerative and sports-related joint injuries.
Palma Clinic, whose co-founder and managing partner is Dr. Henningsen will, of course, continue to offer its usual range of treatments.
According to Henningsen, the aim is to create an extension within the Bendinat Medical Centre: “Bendinat should also offer good care to patients outside of Palma”. As usual, laboratory diagnostics, acute care and non-invasive therapies will be offered at the highest international level.
Network of experts
Born in Hamburg, Dr. Henningsen studied at the renowned University Medical Centre Hamburg-Eppendorf and worked there for several years in the field of internal medicine and also renal medicine. This was followed by working in London and Brazil. For the diagnosis, he relies on a personal dialogue, “that takes time and empathy”.
He has “hardly regretted a single day” of his move to Mallorca 15 years ago, mainly because he can also devote himself to his passion for water sports, especially sailing and surfing.
Orthopaedic surgeon Prof. Dr. Garcia has been practising on Mallorca since 2016 and continues to work at Münster University Hospital. He established the Traumatology-Orthopedics-Mallorca (TOM) practice alliance on Mallorca, a network for experts in musculoskeletal medicine. Now, he will be offering a wide range of surgical and non-surgical therapies in Bendinat.
In close co-operation with the Palma Clinic, operations, various types of ultrasound, and examinations of internal organs will be offered in the usual gentle and safe manner.
Languages offered include German, English and Spanish and all services are private. Underground car parking spaces are available for your visit.
