Louis Vuitton has paid homage to Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama by collaborating in a retrospective exhibition of her work and in the production of some limited edition ranges.

The retrospective was launched at the Whitney Museum in New York, on Tuesday, the 10th of July, while in the limited edition ranges, Marc Jacobs, Louis Vuitton Artistic Director, will reinterpret some of her most iconic works.

Jacobs, who has a profound admiration for her work, will design in conjunction with her various installations for window displays at all Louis Vuitton shops worldwide. These were launched on the same day at la Maison Louis Vuitton on New York’s 5th Avenue.

The installation, an artistic tribute to Kusama, embraces the vastness of her work through three themes: “Beginning of the Universe”, “Eternal Blooming Flowers in My Mind” and “Self-Obliteration” amid a huge façade covered in Kusama’s traditional dots.
