Golden Globe Awards

The tail hem trends on the red carpet

Less is more. Once again this became clear on the red carpet of the Golden Globe Awards 2014, where TV personalities and actresses dressed-up to participate at one of the most important award ceremonies of the year.

My personal favourite look of the evening was Cate Blanchett. who took home the golden globe for her amazing performance in the Woody Allen movie Blue Jasmine – which is a must see for all you ladies who lunch!

Here are some of the major fashion trends of the red-carpet:
The tail hem is definitely a new must for evening wear. A tail hem gives a dress a slightly longer hem at the back. Zooey Deschanel, Caitlin Fitzgerald and Sandra Bullock, among others, wore it with a great result. (My personal favourite tail hem was Caitlin Fitzgerald in an amazing Emilia Wickstead light blue dress).

Minimal was also a big hit on this year’s red carpet. Emma Roberts in Lanvin, Emma Watson in Dior (and with an always appropriate and elegant pair of pearl earrings) and Lupita Nyong’o in a red Ralph Lauren looked absolutely stunning. Emma Roberts combined her Lanvin with beautiful teardrop earrings that reminded me of the fabulous St. Erasmus long teardrop earrings you can find at

We also saw a lot of sparkle and modern princess style dresses on the red carpet, where black, red and silver/grey took over. Sofía Vergara looked stunning in a black Zac Posen gown, drawing her attention to her big necklace. One of our St. Erasmus statement necklaces would have been even more impressive with the black dress!

I also loved Amy Adams in Valentino and she could have added a classic string of Almond Blossom pearls to give it that final elegant touch on such an important occasion. Jessica Chastain excelled in a vintage look by Givenchy. Take inspiration and get the look yourself by wear many strings of pearls in black and white pearl necklace for that extra wow factor!

The secret for a fabulous look is to choose the perfect accessories to take you to the next level.
