Dolce & Gabbana Autumn / Winter Collection 2012

Baroque opulence to counter winter blues

 In Archive

Bella Italia, your name is Dolce & Gabbana. The new lavish autumn/winter collection for 2012/2013 by Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana was inspired by the designers’ homeland of Sicily and definitely inspires us to find that sexy diva within each of us and embrace the opulence this fabulous collection has to offer. Lush gold embellishments and needlepoint flowers crowned the baroque velvet and lace black dresses, coats and skirts together with tastefully placed retro flowers.

This trend continued across the collection including handbags, bold belts and shoes. The style was both sweet and feminine but also seductively strong with a hint of religious undertones. The collection also confirmed a continuation of a trend from this year’s summer collections: the mini shorts. Retro glamour sunglasses decorated with delicate ceramic flowers are definitely a must-have to combat the winter blues this season and we might just embrace the jewel hair garlands and the sleek buns too! Capes are another divine trend for this autumn winter season, especially ones with luxurious gold brocade and elegant embroidery.

There is only one conclusion for this collection that is good enough to dress the Holy Madonna: Viva Italia and viva D & G.
