Professionals in tourism, art and culture come together
On April 5 took place ART FORUM: I Forum de Turismo y Arte Contemporáneo de Baleares, an event held by the Consejería de Turismo y Deportes de las Islas Baleares. This forum is a meeting point between the managers of tourist destinations, cultural and art professionals for the exchange of knowledge and experiences on the importance of cultural tourism as a strategic to promote our destination.
As a finishing touch to the forum, there was a great showcooking session by Tomeu Caldentey, Thomas Kahl and Fernando Pérez.
Tomeu Caldentey, the first majorcan to receive a Michelin star for his restaurant Es Moli d’en Bou , kept from 2004 to 2013, presented two superb creations around cheese : manchego coated in herbs with strawberry and apple sauce and squid ink powder and mahonés coated in pear and black olive tapenade.Thomas Kahl, head chef at Es Fum since 2009 and also awarded with a Michelin star in 2011 surprised with a foie mousse with garlic soup, eel and basil foam, while Fernando Pérez,which first began with Zaranda in Madrid and finally moved to Mallorca, made our imagination roll with a smoked salmon mousse, green asparagus and caviar spheres. A delight for the senses that has once again highlighted the spectacular cuisine and culture of Mallorca.
This first edition of Art Forum Baleares was completed with the subsequent edition of ArtPalma Brunch,one of the most important cultural events of the city.
